There are many famous lighting designers in Japan. Mr. Kaoru MENDE worked on the lighting of Tokyo Station that I introduced here. He is also active in the world, including designing the lighting of the Gardens by the Bay in Singapore, etc. Before, when I interviewed him, he said it was important to design not only light but also darkness well. This is the idea behind traditional Japanese lighting. Tokyo Tower, Rainbow Bridge, Sensoji Temple, etc. were designed by Ms. Motoko ISHII. She is a leading expert in this field. Mr. Hirohito TOTSUNE was in charge of Tokyo Skytree. When you come to Japan, please enjoy the light and darkness they designed.
