The National High School Baseball Championship Tournament is underway in Japan right now.
The National High School Baseball Championship Tournament is a prestigious tournament that determines the number one high school baseball team in Japan, and is held every spring and summer at Koshien in Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture, near Osaka.
The “Summer Koshien,” held in the middle of the hot summer, is especially popular and spectacular.
Regardless of whether they win or lose, the whole country cheers on the young high school baseball players as they play their hardest under the blazing sun.
This year, 3,547 schools participated in the tournament.
From these, only 49 teams will be able to play at Koshien after winning the regional tournaments around Japan. 
Many players have been scouted by professional teams in Japan and abroad, including Japanese professional baseball and Major League Baseball in the U.S., and have gone on to play for professional teams.
