If you want to see the magnificent primeval forest in Hokkaido, I recommend driving the Mikuni Toge Pass (1,139m above sea level) in Daisetsuzan National Park. From late May to June, the surrounding fresh green is wonderful. From late September to early October, you can enjoy the amazing autumn colors, as you can see on this page!
