In Kyoto, autumn leaves peak from late November to early December. If you are going to Kyoto, I recommend Eikando Zenrin-ji Temple first. About 3000 maples are planted here. This temple has been praised for more than 1000 years for its beautiful autumn leaves. However, at peak time, you have to line up for a long time to enter this temple. If you don’t want to line up, book a bus tour or a kaiseki restaurant next to the temple. There is a risk of traffic congestion on the bus tour. So I like to go nearby by the subway (Keage Sta) and use the restaurant next to the temple. This restaurant is not so delicious. But when you finish eating, you can enter the temple right from the special entrance.
