If you come to Japan, you will find that there are a lot of very small cars. These are called “Kei cars(軽自動車, K-cars)”. Japanese cars are exported to all over the world, but Kei cars are hardly exported. When buying Kei cars, you pay less tax than ordinary cars. So, in Japan, people often buy Kei cars as the second and third cars. Today, one third of all cars in Japan are Kei cars. Kei cars are regulated by law to have a total length of 3.4 m or less, a total width of 1.48 m or less, and a total height of 2 m or less. So it’s small, but some cars are more than 1.7m high.
