Kyoto Imperial Palace (Kyoto Gosho) is the former palace of the Emperor. Since the capital was moved to Tokyo in 1869, it has been managed by the Imperial Household Agency. Today the site is open to the public. The Imperial Household Agency hosts public tours of the building several times a day. When traveling in Kyoto, it’s a good idea to explore the elegant world where the Emperor lived!
