In July, the rainy season known as “Tsuyu” begins in mid-June and lasts until around the 20th. Areas along the Seto Inland Sea coast, such as Hiroshima City and Miyajima Island, receive less rain than other areas, but still continue to have rainy days during Tsuyu. It will be hot and humid, so cool clothing with short sleeves is recommended. Once the rainy season is over, summer will be in full swing. It is really hot these days, partly due to global warming, so be sure to stay hydrated while traveling.
