Photos: Gokayama Village in Toyama Prefecture

There are villages collectively called Gokayama in the southwest of the Tonami Plain, Toyama Prefecture. The villages in Gokayama are registered as a World Heritage site along with the famous Shirakawa-go. Gokayama is not as touristy as Shirakawago. I once interviewed a director who filmed a movie in Gokayama. He smiled, saying, “The residents of Gokayama are down-to-earth and honest people”. Would you like to visit this heavy snowfall village?
